An integrative approach
As an integrative-relational counsellor, I have studied various therapeutic approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic, CBT, solution-focused therapy and trauma informed models. This allows me to work with an approach that is flexible and that I can tailor in a way that is best suited to your personal needs.
The therapeutic relationship is a mutual experience built on trust, compassion and acceptance. For many clients having such a space where their personal experiences are validated without judgment can be therapeutic in itself and help them find the answers they need to move forward. However, if the difficulties you are facing are more complex or long-standing, we will work on a deeper level. By exploring your past relationships and experiences, I can help you build a clearer picture of how they might shape the way you experience the world today. We can look at the beliefs you have built up over time and see where they might be holding you back from leading a happier, fullfilling life.
Sessions
Initial 60 minute consultation £60
Regular 50 minute sessions £60
Our first meeting will be a 60-minute initial consultation. This session offers an opportunity for you to share what brings you to therapy and to ask any questions you may have. We will discuss your individual needs and goals for therapy and go over your personal history together. Above all, it is a chance for us to connect and see if we feel like the right fit for working together. Regular therapy sessions take place weekly and are 50 minutes long.
Short or long term?
I can see clients on a short-term or an open-ended longer term basis. If you have a specific challenge you want to tackle, short-term counselling offers a focused, goal-oriented space to help you navigate that issue over a few weeks or months. Alternatively, long-term therapy provides a deeper, unhurried space to untangle more complex struggles, like trauma, persistent anxiety, or depression, and gently shift old, lifelong patterns that no longer serve you. There is no pressure to decide straight away. Many people start with short-term work and naturally choose to transition into longer-term therapy.
